Using the website
The articles, guides and price tables on wilmingtonfenceworks.com are general information about fences in the Wilmington area. They are not a survey, an engineering design, a legal opinion or a ruling on whether your fence needs a permit.
Who builds the fence
Installation and repair work booked through this site is carried out by independent fence contractors who carry liability insurance. North Carolina has no separate residential fence licence; the general contractor licence administered by the NC Licensing Board for General Contractors applies only above its project-value threshold, which most home fence jobs do not reach.
Safety around digging
A utility locate is requested before posts are set. Private lines that utilities do not mark, such as irrigation pipe, low-voltage lighting and outbuilding power, must be pointed out by the property owner before work starts.
Property lines, permits and HOAs
The fence is built on the line shown on your plat, survey pins or the marks you approve. Responsibility for knowing where the property line runs stays with the owner; if the line is in doubt, a licensed surveyor should mark it first. Where the City of Wilmington, a county or a beach town requires a permit, the fee appears as its own line on the estimate. HOA or architectural review approval is normally obtained by the homeowner, using the drawing and product sheet we provide.
Estimates and prices
Ranges published on this site are 2026 planning figures. The binding figure is the written, itemized estimate, valid for the period printed on it. An estimate becomes an agreement only after you approve it.
Payment
The deposit, if any, and the balance due date are written on the estimate. Financing, where used, is a separate agreement between you and the lender.
Storms and acts of nature
No fence is designed to be hurricane-proof. Damage caused by storms, falling trees, flooding or vehicles is not a workmanship defect.
